Gardnerella Vaginalis

The bacterium that is the most common cause of bacterial vaginosis. It also refers to the infection itself, which causes a thin, smelly discharge in both men and women.

Gay-bashing

Violence against gay men or lesbians because of their sexual orientation. Enough already.

Gender identity

The gender one feels himself or herself to be, whether physiologically male or female.  

Genetic sex

The differentiation of males and females based upon chromosomal and hormonal differences.

The external reproductive and sexual organs of males and females. Also sometimes known as genitalia.

Genital warts

An STD caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV) that causes warts to appear on the genitals. Can increase risk of cervical cancer if left untreated.

 Getting off

A slang term for having an orgasm.

 Gigolo

A male prostitute.

Giving head

A slang term for fellatio.

 Glans penis

The head of the penis.

Going down (on)

A slang term for cunnilingus.

Golden showers

A slang expression for a sexual variation involving urinating on a partner.

Gonad

Reproductive organs in which the testes produce sperm in men and the ovaries produce ova in women.

Gonadotropins

Hormones produced by the pituitary gland that stimulate the activity of the gonads.

Gonorrhea

An STD caused by the Neisseria gonorrhoeae bacterium. Serious complications can occur if left untreated. May also be passed to newborn during delivery.

Grafenberg spot

A sexually sensitive area on the front wall of the vagina approximately two inches towards the stomach. Also known as the G spot.  

G-spot
